Tormore Distillery Returns With New Single Malt Range: Tormore 12 Year Old, Tormore 16 Year Old Sherry Cask & Tormore Timeless

Since its acquisition by Elixir Distillers in 2022, the Tormore Distillery has finally announced its comeback with a trio of its very own single malts.
The Tormore 12 Year Old, Tormore 16 Year Old Sherry Cask, and the non-age statement Tormore Timeless will succeed the more limited the ‘teaser’ bottlings released last year, and will be an ongoing line.
Located in the Cromdale Hills of Scotland's Speyside, Tormore Distillery previously served as a production powerhouse for Pernod Ricard, supplying spirits for major blends such as Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s, and Passport. It had not made its own line of single malt expressions for almost more than two decades.
The expressions are:
Tormore 12 Year Old: This expression comprises whiskies matured in Bourbon barrels, toasted American oak casks and casks seasoned with a bespoke cream Sherry. It is said to boast notes of peach cobbler, toasted almonds, coconut, poached pears and cream. Bottled at 46% ABV without added colouring or chill filtration, it has an MSRP of £54.95 (US$74) for 700ml.
Tormore 16 Year Old: This expression has been finished in American and European oak Sherry casks. Tasting notes should present blackberry jam, vanilla fudge, lemon oil and dates. Bottled at 46.8% ABV and also natural in colour and non-chill filtered, it has an MSRP of £79.95 (US$107).
Tormore Timeless: Aged primarily in Bourbon barrels and bottled at an 43% ABV without added colouring. The distillery has promised fresh vanilla, lemon zest, peach tea and honeysuckle notes, with an MSRP of £41.95 (US$56) for 700ml.

After acquiring Tormore, West London-based Elixir Distillers reviewed the entire production process for potential upgrades. Alongside these operational improvements, the new owners are championing a distinct approach to maturation, one that prioritizes Tormore’s naturally fruity spirit character over heavy oak influence.
Elixir Distillers’ head blender Oliver Chilton has said that following the rollout of their initial core range, two older expressions will be unveiled early next year: an 18 and 21 year old.
The distillery is working with an unnamed supplier in Kentucky for the former, and with cooperages in France (particularly around Sauternes) on fine-grained French oak for the latter.
The three new expressions will be available to purchase from The Whisky Exchange from Monday 15 June, and from retailers nationwide on Monday 29 June.
