Bourbon staple Woodford Reserve has released a new edition from its annual Distillery Series - the Woodford Reserve Honey Barrel Finish.
Launched in celebration of Bourbon Heritage Month, this new expression was finished in barrels that previously stored honey from a local bee farmer, an apiary, in Woodford County, Kentucky.

“One of the best parts of my job is being able to experiment with new ways of making Woodford Reserve,
It’s been rewarding to work with a honey producer here in Woodford County to create this unique Distillery Series expression and support local business and agriculture.”
- Master Distiller Chris Morris
The Bourbon maker first loaned the apiary some of its freshly emptied Bourbon barrels, who used the barrels to age their honey. These barrels were later returned to Woodford Reserve Distillery to be filled with Bourbon for further aging.
The expression is said to "deliver floral and toasty notes of honey suckle, lemon peel, toasted coconut and honey graham cracker, with a long finish."
