WhistlePig is celebrating going 100% solar powered by teaming up with Pit Viper, an outdoor sports and lifestyle eyewear brand, to release a celebratory whiskey - the WhistlePig SummerStock that comes with matching SummerStock 2000 Pit Viper sunglasses.

The move to solar energy started in 2020 and has since gradually powered a full shift in 2023, to the point that the farm can even send energy back to the local grid now.

The SummerStock whiskey is a blend of rye and wheat whiskies thats finished in an experimental "Solara" - a play on the solera method, but in WhistlePig's case, toasted barrels were used that were toasted by the sun.

The expression is bottled at 43% ABV and has notes of "oak, soft baking spice, and subtle maple, followed by a mellow, jammy finish.”

The combination of SummerStock Whiskey and SummerStock 2000 Pit Viper Sunglasses is available for pre-order at WhistlePig's online shop for US$149.99, with a portion of the proceeds going to Everybody Solar. The expression will also be released across US retailers for US$72.99 without the sunglasses.
