We return to Bar Madame following the Whisky Live Singapore weekend, for a tasting of one of my favourite rum brands — Black Tot Rum, accompanied by none other than Mitch Wilson.
A particularly delightful aspect of attending a Black Tot Rum tasting with Mitch is the opportunity to always be learning something new. It could manifest in the simplest of forms, such as the pictorial depictions of the London Docklands as they transformed throughout the 19th Century, which can be rather difficult to envisage when one considers the present-day appearance of the River Thames and Docklands.

Another fascinating tidbit I learnt was the crafting of the Master Blender’s 2022 edition, which was conceived with a specific intention by Sukhinder — to replicate the profile and tasting experience akin to a Barbancourt Reserve du Domaine (15-years-old) bottled in the 1970s, and I can attest that it indeed met Sukhinder’s expectations. Thank you again Mitch for another excellent Black Tot tasting!
