Tasting one of the all time classics Appleton Estate 12 Year Old Rare Blend, long considered as the gateway to Jamaican rums!

The first nosing of it interestingly resembles that of brandy, with grapes and oak, with little hints of brine and red apples. On the palate the rum starts off savoury, more brine, and then bitter with a little funk which gives the rum a good balance. And in the finish you get sweet caramel, honey, and even grass jelly (a chinese dessert)! Very interesting indeed!
