A very exclusive taste of Foursquare’s latest exceptional cask series at Origin Bar Singapore - the Mandamus, which in its simplest means rum done the right way as it should be, an ethos that I can immediately relate with Richard Seale.

For the curious, the Mandamus is a 16-year-old rum aged entirely in Barbados, and is a blend of rums aged in ex-bourbon and ex-port casks. The flavours are unmistakably Foursquare, but what makes the Mandamus stand out is that perfect balance that many rum distillers fail to achieve when it comes to port casks, where you get just the right amount of roundness and grapes from the port casks, and balanced with the oak and vanilla from the bourbon. An exceptional rum as always, and a big thank you to Gayle and Christian for bringing this gem to Singapore!
