I was at @theauldalliance with @rum_come_save_me a couple of evenings ago to taste some exclusive bottlings by @famillericci_rhum, and I have to say that both were rather impressive.

The 2008 @rhumbielle was deliciously complex, and constantly evolved in the glass. The first tastes were that of amaro and orange liqueur, but as it opened, the traditional agricole notes were able to surface, bringing about chocolates, hazelnuts, and of course those distinctive grassy notes, but nonetheless the resemblance to Cointreau remained till the end of its long finish.

The 2004 Nicaragua bottled for both The Auld Alliance and @colheitas, while not as complex as the Bielle, was no slouch either. That fullness, juiciness of the liquid, paired with delicious vanilla notes, light citrus peels, as well as the little hints of baking spices, all point to a typical Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua distillate, but in this case was far more robust, concentrated, and for me, a true testament of these great single casks from Nicaragua.
