Abunotsuru Goya Junmai 58 Namazume

Abunotsuru Goya Junmai 58 Namazume

Goya! This bottle was so yummy and the sticker label is cool too. I love the play on the word Goya - which is the pronunciation for 58 but also translates to bitter melon. A nice balanced umami and sweetness. The sake is flavourful with a light sparkle because it’s a nama. A small hint of bitterness at the finish. Amazing sake! Highly recommend.

Fun fact: This was polished and brewed in commemoration of the year the brewery closed (Showa 58; 1983)

Brewery: Abunotsuru Shuzo
Origin: Yamaguchi
Polishing Rate: 58%
Rice: Yamadanishiki
