Overall - Aramasa is another sake brand that I am into recently. There are 3 types of Aramasa No.6 which is the R-Type, S-Type and X-Type. The X-Type stands for excellent. There are 2 different types of X-Type namely the normal and Essence. The Essence is the highest grade as the sake is collected without pressure. This is a limited sake with only 516 bottles being produced. This is also a very fruity sake consisting of even 🍓 and 🍍 fragrance. Slightly sparkling with a light sour 🍍 taste at the mouth yet mellows out into a sweet note at the swallow.
This is a namazake and ought to drink chilled around 10-12C and best to finish in 1 seating after it is opened. Food pairing is easy at Himonoya which serves quite a wide variety of Japanese Izakaya food. Appetizers consist of Ehiire, Tatami Iwashi, Salmon Sashimi Salad. Mains include Chicken Nanban, Tuna Sashimi Slab, Sashimi Moriwase and grilled Hamachi collar. This sweet and light tasting sake makes good combination with the sashimi and appetizers. It kinds of open up the palate for more heavy dishes and also serve as a great starting drink with conversation around it while waiting for the food. With its medium sweet taste, it is very suitable for ladies who are new to sake or who hates the typical rice fragrance of sake.
Overall, this is an excellent sake. Definitely worthy of the name X-Type. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
