Overall - Aramasa has been on the top of my sake list lately and I just cannot help to order when I see one. Dinner and sake night at Himonoya has became a monthly affair for my friends and I as Himonoya carries a wide selection of renowned Sake brands. This Aramasa X-Type (extra special) is brewed using the oldest Number 6 yeast and is slightly sparkling when first opened. Lightly unripe white 🍇 sourness at the mouth with a slight acidity and finishes in a short smooth manner at the palate. If you are curious about the R/S/X-Type of Aramasa, you can check out my previous post.

Food pairing was with the dishes at Himonoya. Due to the delicate and smoothness of this sake, I will recommend pairing it with fresh sashimi, chilled tofu or simple salad with minimal sauce in order not to overwhelm the robust fruity fragrance of this sake and to enjoy the freshness to the maximum. The ABV is low considering the fact that this is a Genshu and it needs to be enjoyed chilled to maintain the freshness as well.

Highly recommended for easy drinking or when you have ladies in the group. Overall, this is an excellent sake. 🍾
