Overall - First time trying a 獺祭45. Most of the time I will drink 獺祭39. The most subtle difference I find between the 2 is that the 39 is more fragrant than the 45. I believe that is largely due to the additional polishing. The fruity aroma and light taste makes it easy to pair with most food. I couldn’t think of any food that does not go well with a 獺祭. Had it with traditional Japanese Gyuniku 🥩 Don and Shirako Ponzu. The light body and medium dryness helps to bring out the favor of the Shirako Ponzu and the beefy aroma of the Gyuniku. As it is a light umami 🍶, it really blends well with the Ponzu sauce. Overall this is a very good 🍶 and a good alternative to 39 when you cannot get your 🙌 on it.
