Manotsuru Junmai Daiginjo “Summer: Look Up”

This is part of the “Same Sky” series which features four bottles brewed in each season of the year. Since the pandemic, travel has been restricted but Obata Shuzo believes that sake has the power to connect people. Even if we are far apart, we are all under the same sky.

This glow in the dark label features the Milky Way, which can be seen in the summer when looking up from Sado Kinzan, close to the brewery.

It smelled gorgeous on the nose, banana and tropical fruits galore. Tasted fruity & slightly sweet. Consistent with its name and as cliche as it sounds, this was drank at the balcony watching stars and contemplating life.

Brewery: Obata Shuzo
Origin: Niigata
Polishing Ratio: 50%
Rice: Koshitanrei
