Overall - Went to Neon Pigeon to celebrate my wife’s birthday and was introduced to a bottle of Ryujin “Dragon God” Ginjo. The label of the bottle is black with silver wordings and a 🐉 design. Very cool and intriguing. This is a namazume genshu which means it is only pasteurized once prior to storage and is not watered down to reduce the alcohol content. Hence the alcohol content is at 17% which is consider high for sake. This sake needs to be stored chilled at 5c or below and finish as soon after it is opened. The aroma is fruity and consists largely of 🍌 and 🍈 fragrance. The umami and taste is light and can be easily classified as a kun-shu type sake. The light body matches the taste and length and the medium sweetness compliment the fruity aroma. The smooth and refreshing taste of this sake does go very well with strong favor food like the Tokyo hummus with curry chips, charcoal grilled asparagus with black goma sauce and smoked baby back ribs with bbq sauce which I enjoyed at the restaurant. I’m sure it will also pair really well with Indian food or food made with lots of spice. This is an easy to drink sake that will be popular as a bar drink and also for beginners to enjoy genshu type sake.

Overall, this is a very good sake.
