Stevie Ray Vaughan's Couldn't Stand The Weather released today 15th May in 1984. This Ultradisc One-Step pressing by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab sounds phenomenal.
Glenfiddich 30yo matured in European Oloroso sherry and American Bourbon casks. Subtle notes of sherry and fig are balanced with rich dark chocolate flavours 🥃🥃
Couldn't Stand The Weather was our first real record, because Texas Flood was a demo. It was a very exciting time. Just being flown to New York to stay at the Mayflower Hotel for six weeks was a big deal for six guys from Texas, as was working at the Power Station, where Stevie had worked with David Bowie. And to top it off, we were being produced by John Hammond!" - Chris Layton
And Jimmie Vaughan played some amazing rhythm guitar on "The Things (That) I Used To Do" and " Couldn't Stand The Weather".
"I put all the parts down in one afternoon. We'd gone over the tunes before, so it was a breeze." - Jimmie Vaughan
