Skid Row's self-titled album from 1989. This is a ripper with many great songs including 18 and Life, Youth Gone Wild, and I Remember You.
SMWS 12.62 Heaven Sent. A 31yo BenRiach distilled in the same year of 1989. Matured initially in an ex-oloroso butt and finished in a 1st-fill ex-PX butt with an abv of 57.9%. 🥃🥃
Skid Row was founded in New Jersey 1986 by Dave Sabo and Rachel Bolan. In fact, the name Skid Row was already used by another defunct band featuring Gary Moore in the 60s and 70s. Sabo and Jon Bon Jovi were teenage friends and Sabo was in Bon Jovi briefly before being replaced by Richie Sambora. The original singer was replaced by Sebastian Bach who was introduced to the band by Jon's parents. Dave and Jon made a deal if one of them made it in the music industry, one would help the other out. Bon Jovi got Skid Row to open for them on their Slippery When Wet Tour, and their manager secured a record deal for Skid Row with Atlantic.
I saw Skid Row in 1993 on Waitangi Day at the Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland, when they opened for Guns N Roses. That was the best line-up. Although the band is still touring now, Bach's voice is Skid Row, and when he left, it wasn't the same anymore.
