Ice in Champagne? Why Not! Veuve Clicquot Pops Up in Sunny Singapore with New 'RICH' Champagnes Served With Ice
Veuve Clicquot, the iconic Champagne house renowned for its signature yellow label and rich heritage, is set to make a splash in Singapore with the launch of its new RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées.
Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron and then led by his visionary wife Madame Clicquot (Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin), Veuve Clicquot gained recognition for its innovative techniques, including the riddling table for clarification, which revolutionized Champagne production. Today, the over two-hundred-and-fifty year old brand is a well-known global luxury Champagne.
These two new Champagnes, both blends of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay, with the Rosé boasting an additional 15% red wine component, are designed to be enjoyed on ice, a departure from traditional Champagne serving orthodoxy. The Veuve Clicquot RICH offers exotic fruits like pineapple, mango, melon, and passion fruit, while the RICH Rosé tantalises with notes of red fruits and orchard fruits like fig, peach, and pear.
To celebrate this launch, Veuve Clicquot is bringing a slice of the French Riviera to Singapore with a two-month pop-up at +Twelve at the city's first adults-focused beach club starting from 27th September. The pop-up, which is part of the global Sun Club movement, will showcase Veuve Clicquot’s Solaire art de vivre, inviting Champagne lovers to embrace a chic and relaxed lifestyle while sipping on the new RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées.
The pop-up experience will also extend to several partner terrace bars, including Lantern (The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore), Canyon Club (Mondrian Singapore Duxton Hill), and Mr Stork (Andaz Singapore), offering limited-time food and drink pairings.
Interestingly, the term “RICH” was historically used in the 1870s to differentiate sweet Champagne from dry Champagne for the British market. Today, Veuve Clicquot's new RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées, drawing on the brand's blending expertise, are meant to retain their optimal temperature and flavour, even when served chilled with ice.
Veuve Clicquot Sun Clubs are expanding globally, designed to bring luxury and elegance to top summer destinations, celebrating the joy of living life to the fullest. The first Sun Club launched on 1 June 2024 in popular European summer destinations such as Ibiza, Paris, and Rome. Singapore, with its year-round summer climate, has been chosen as the next key market for this movement.
“As one of the first in Southeast Asia to unveil the Veuve Clicquot Sun Club, we invite the city to bask in the bright, joyful energy of solaire. Embodying Veuve Clicquot’s spirit of living life to the fullest while showcasing the RICH cuvées’ versatility, this debut is sure to resonate with those who seek to celebrate in style. We’re excited to partner with our flagship +Twelve, the perfect luxe beachfront destination where champagne lovers can look forward to savouring fine champagne under the sun.”
– Nausicaa Charrier, Marketing Director at Moët Hennessy Diageo Singapore and Malaysia
+Twelve, located at Palawan Beach Sentosa, is the flagship venue in Singapore for the Sun Club and will be the first to debut the RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées. The venue will be transformed with yellow-themed decor, including sun club tables, cabanas, striped parasols, and float-inspired trays for serving Champagne, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the sun-drenched French Riviera.
To complement the Champagnes, +Twelve will offer special food pairings, such as Seafood Ceviche ($35++) and Grilled Mediterranean Seafood Skewers ($45++). Bottle and by-the-glass specials will also be available, ensuring there's an option for every Champagne enthusiast.
The Sun Club pop-up at +Twelve will launch on 27th September 2024. The new RICH cuvée will be priced at *$198++ and RICH Rosé at *$228++, with both later available at partner venues (*subject to individual venue's pricing).
So, whether you're a Champagne lover or simply looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy bubbly, Veuve Clicquot's Sun Club pop-up looks to be an unforgettable experience. Raise a glass to the sun, the sea, and the Solaire art de vivre!
