Sake Festival Singapore 2026 Ushers in 11 Year Anniversary With The Masters' Return

Returning for its 11th edition, Sake Festival Singapore 2026 has unveiled its latest theme: "The Masters’ Return."

Celebrated as one of Asia's first and largest showcases of Japanese libations, this year's landmark event brings together over 40 elite Japanese sake brewers, showcasing an extensive lineup of more than 600 sakes and spirits alongside a brand-new workshop arena and a vibrant izakaya alley curated by the Tanjong Pagar Yokocho chef collective.

The highly anticipated annual event will take place on Saturday, 20 June 2026, at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Tickets are priced at $60 in advance and $70 at the door, as well as a 5+1 bundle deal.

The event is organised by Orihara, Singapore’s leading distributor of nihonshu. Established in 2014, Sake Festival Singapore has till now aimed to remain true to the vision of promoting the craft and traditions of nihonshu.

It remains the only festival in Singapore where consumers can meet the highest number of sake producers, including kurabitos (brewery workers) and tojis (master brewers), face-to-face.

Sake Features The lineup of more than 40 breweries from the globally acclaimed and progressive Dassai Inc. to Yukinobosha, and Miyao Brewery.

Sake enthusiasts will recognise the iconic Hakurakusei label from Miyagi Prefecture's Niizawa Brewery, which is trying to reshape the sake landscape by pioneering shokuchushu. Better understood as sakes meticulously engineered to act as the ultimate food companions, this goal has led the label to be highly sought after across global Michelin-starred establishments.

Shimeharitsuru will also make an appearance, known for its brewers' dedication to crafting supreme sake. The brewery is said to strike a delicate balance between rich and light flavours, utilising the underground water that flows from the Asahi mountain range via the Miomote River.

Other sake experiences available at the event are:

  • Azuma Rikishi — CAVE UROKO 5: A blend of five different cave-aged sakes, where the aging process lends a deep umami character. This sake boasts a rich, full-bodied, and deeply concentrated flavour profile.

  • Yamakawa Mitsuo 2026 by Yamagata Masamune: A collaborative sake project created by four breweries from Yamagata Prefecture. The name is an acronym taken from one character of each brewery’s brand: 'Yama' from Yamagata Masamune, 'Kawa' from Tatenokawa, 'Mitsu' from Toko/Retsu, and 'O' from Uyo Otokoyama.

  • Kamotsuru Shuchu Zaishin Junmai Daiginjou: Kamotsuru Brewery is one of Hiroshima’s most historic and influential breweries, founded in 1873 in Saijo, renowned for pioneering premium ginjo-style sake and producing elegant, refined sake that reflects Hiroshima’s celebrated soft-water brewing tradition.

Crafted with Yamadanishiki grown in the Zoga district of Higashihiroshima and brewed with soft subterranean water from Mt. Ryuo, this Junmai Daiginjo is said to present elegant grape-like aromatics, refined depth, and a beautifully expanding rice umami.

Other highlights for the event also include:

  • Workshop Arena: Making its debut this year, the Workshop Arena offers complimentary sessions by Dassai, Suntory Toki whisky, and SKLO glassware, alongside curated tastings hosted by consumer group Sake Bottle Share.

  • Sommelier-Guided Tours: Themed sake tours led by the festival’s sommeliers offer a quick, curated way for attendees to discover the favourites of the exhibition floor.

  • Izakaya Alley by Tanjong Pagar Yokocho chefs: A collective of Japanese chefs operating restaurants in the Tanjong Pagar district, this group has been a popular fixture at the festival since their debut in 2024. They will serve classic Japanese izakaya-style items, including oden, karaage, California-style crab uramaki, anago (sea eel) stick sushi, and various otsumami (small bites). Food prices start at $6.

Suntory The Premium Malt’s, a long-time partner of Sake Festival Singapore, is also set to debut five premium serves at the event: Mliko, Pilsner, Sunset, Half & Half, and Black Beer. In a rare treat for festivalgoers, Kaoru Ale and Master’s Dream—expressions typically reserved exclusively for select establishments—will also be poured.
