Balvenie 12 single barrel first fill cask 5893, bottle 277, 47.8% abv.
This is matured in first-fill bourbon casks for at least 12 years with less than 300 bottles produced.
Nose: light, simple, notes of honey, other than that its mostly light alcohol.
Palate: wood, soft, initial sour notes that get stronger as it stays on the tongue, some wood, slight peeks of sweetness here and there
Finish: short.
Nothing going on here, very simple. Not as intense or complex as some online notes would describe it as. 12 years seems a bit young to me.
