Balvenie 15, Single Barrel Sherry Cask, Cask 12171, bottle 387/800, 47.8% abv.

Nose: semi-strong sherry notes, fruity, honey, a slight waxiness. All aromas seem to dissipate.
Palate: waxy texture, slightly spicy, no honey, no fruit, no smoke. A weak bitterness evolves from the flavor. General sherry spice and the oaky bitterness slowly appears... but much slower than other normal non-Islay scotches.
Finish: dry, moderate, slightly bitter, like a light sherry.
Dry glass: waxy, hints of sherry.

Quite tasty, sherry aspects are all there, although in moderation. I wish the flavors were stronger or perhaps more differing flavors would help. A very well done scotch and better than the GD 15 Revival that I just can't seem to find a good pour on. Wouldn't mind revisiting this bottle one day.

Grade: C+
