The original...sort of, or more like the modern original!
Nose: a young whisky, good body, mostly light bubblegum, some apple, light strawberries, pears, something akin to that sunkist red fruit juice, artificial sweetener, boiled longans and lychees, very close to fruity bubblegum.
Palate: light body, syrupy, initial palate is light wood, some brown paper bag, maple syrup but not so maple-y, becomes sweet suddenly, mid palate has more sugar, more emphasis on a crispy wood, the burnt parts on those McDonald's hashbrowns, but generally a sort of simple syrup style, back palate shows more personality, sweet, mostly wood perhaps boiled wood, some lukewarm lychees serve a secondary role but short-lived in the profile, longan shells but these also transform to wood with subsequent sips. There seems to be some light smoke in the syrup.
Finish: light to medium, a pinch of smoke?, tingly, slightly dry at such low abv, springwood, burnt popcorn, burnt twigs, slight bitterness but nothing close to coffee... perhaps some exotic single origins on the bitter side, moss, yeah mostly a forest-oriented residuals, grape popsicle with the wooden stick.
Definitely young, good flavors, but also some plain and perhaps undesirable stuff in there. Shocked at the range, but perhaps the age is getting in the way. I can see how one can get peaches on the nose, but I initially didn't think of peaches. Unfortunately forgettable.
