Chichibu 6yo, 2009-2016, Malt Dream Cask for FOS, Bourbon no. 539, 76/177, 62% abv.

For Bar Forest on the Sea (in Tokyo, Asaksa) on their 15 anniversary. A 6 year Chichibu from 2009! First time I saw this, I thought it was a pair of jeans on the label, kid you not, but its actually door curtains, a tradition in Japan, and somehwat in northeast asia. Had this in 2019.

Nose: raspberry, sweet and salty, a sort of bbq meats, slight grape juice.

Palate: light to medium body, initial palate is honey, mid palate has more honey, some vanilla, hints of chocolate, I guess what I would call pretty high quality bourbon barrel stuff?, back palate shows some peaches, grapes, light fruit juice, is there a hint of smoke I detect?

Finish: short, burnt vanilla, a sort of plastic honey.

The bourbon barrel is obvious on this one. Very nice although pretty much standard stuff. These MDC have become so consistent.
