Chichibu 7, 2010-2018, Galaxy Express 999, Cask No. 711, 49/188, 61.3% abv.
The label depicts an anime back in the late 70s about the adventures of a boy and and a girl on a space train called the Galaxy Express 999. I personally haven't seen it so I don't know the details, but it was a popular anime back then with a modern semi-cult following. Compared to the other Galaxy Express 999 label, this label was a little different as it states it was only selected by Hideo Yamaoka.
Nose: major toast/vanilla, chocolate, like old hanyu.
Palate: dry, strong honey, sweet, well bodied, back palate has a very light rasberry or mountain berry like flavor, spicy, intense flavors.
Finish: moderate to long, initially a honey like vanilla coat, spicy.
Very tasty and pretty intense. One of the best Chichibu I've had. General honey that has a hint of fruit at the back. This fruit disappears eventually, perhaps because of the abv. I think the high abv accentuates the flavors, but also gives that unneeded kick.
