Clynelish 1998, 13 Years Old, The Maltman Series, Cask # 7735, 46% ABV

Clynelish 1998/2011 - 13 years old - Meadowside Blending, The Maltman Series - Cask # 7735 - 46% ABV

Nose: Pleasant and soft on the first sniff, a lot of vanilla, apples, almonds and even floral honey. Water brings out spices, lemons, pears and wee whiff of pepper and salt. Some attractive smoulder bonfire noticeable in the background. (83/100)

Palate: Creamy on arrival. Honey and citrus fruits at the forepart follows by spices and seaweed. With drops of water brings out the smokiness and saltiness especially when gargled inside the mouth. (84/100)

Finish: Medium long. Lingering smokiness stays for length, honey sweetness and pepper continues to influence. (84/100)

Overall: A straightforward but very delicate and elegant, inspiring, classical Clynelish. Even at comparatively lower strength it’s rather unbiased. (84/100)
