Christmas came early in the form of a free dram of this liquid gold, along with a handy tasting guide courtesy of the folks at @88.bamboo - the angpao was a nice touch 👌

Got some salt and vanilla to the nose, and on the palate it was slightly sweet and oily, with notes of dried fruit. No surprise since this was triple cask matured in virgin oak and sherry casks. Finish is moderate and you still get a good dose of vanilla. A solid speyside whisky.

Personally, I like to add a bit of water to dial down the alcohol slightly and that's where I am able to taste more of the flavours. Some may prefer ice, or warm water, but to each their own!

Also featuring the whisky nosing glass I bought from @norlanglass years ago when they were on kickstarter. This baby is still in good shape - great buy!
