Glenfarclas, the Potstill Reserve, Potstill Festival 2016, 14th edition, 60.7% abv.

Glenfarclas, the Potstill Reserve, Potstill Festival 2016, 14th edition, cask number 2884, 1st fill sherry hogshead, distilled November 16, 2005, bottled January 20, 2016, 338 bottles, 60.7% abv.

Nose: sherry, fruity, high alcohol content burn.

Palate: that high abv hides flavors, hint of fruit, hint of wood... after a few sips I taste.... fruit crackers!

Finish: long, a light sourness remains.

Dry glass: light crayon wax, slight tobacco, hint of wood.

Man... that 60% abv was tough to overcome. I admit I really couldn't sense much. A few drops of water didn't help. I think Stagg Jr. is much better in this regard because for Stagg Jr. I could at least taste some overdue honey. I am such an amateur. Forgive me.

Grade: Incomplete
