Michter's Makes Waves With Next Release Of 20 Year Old Bourbon

The famed Michter’s Distillery has announced the next release of one of its rarest whiskeys: The Michter's 20 Year Old.

The new bottling was reportedly approved by master distiller Dan McKee and master of maturation Andrea Wilson. The last time this happened was in 2022.

This limited edition release is said to be "viscous, dark, with a richly-complex finish".

The re-release is something that Michter's prides itself in, as any aging beyond 15 years without the whiskey getting too woody is a challenge, said President Joseph J Magliocco.

The release comes after a busy 2023. In November last year, they unveiled their highly anticipated 25-year-old Bourbon, bottled at 58.1% ABV and priced at $1,500.

This was followed by the release of a new batch of their 10-year-old Bourbon in March, and its Legacy Series in June with the latest editions of their Shenk's Homestead and Bomberger's labels.

Earlier that year, Michter's announced that despite increasing its fermentation capacity, customers would have to reduce their expectations for a possibility to meet demand.

This year's release of the 20-year-old whiskey is bottled at 57.1% ABV, and priced at US$1,200.
