Eminente To Release First Flagship 100% Cuban Aguardiente Gran Reserva Exclusiva

Rum house Eminente has unveiled the Eminente Gran Reserva Exclusiva, a 14 year old expression crafted from a blend of aguardientes (Cuban molasses eaux-de-vie) aged in whisky casks.
Guardian of a 150-year-old lineage, Master Blender César Martí pays homage to the origins of Cuban rum by positioning aguardiente as the hallmark of the Maison.
The Eminente Gran Reserva Exclusiva is thus said to stand as the most ambitious creative milestone in Maison Eminente's portfolio. Unlike standard Cuban expressions, the formulation entirely omits high-proof light rum typically distilled at 95% ABV.
The exercise, however, is not entirely without precedent. In 2023, Eminente created an anniversary cuvée for Excellence Rhum and the Confrérie du Rhum composed entirely of aguardiente, a 10-year-old 2012 vintage bottled at 55.5% ABV.
That particular bottling was limited to two 330-bottle micro-batches, strictly reserved for retail partners as a private collector’s edition.
Gran Reserva Exclusiva marks a pivotal evolution for the house. It stands as the very first 100% Cuban aguardiente expression integrated into Eminente’s permanent collection.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense notes of tropical fruits, Tahitian vanilla, cocoa, quince, Crème Brûlée, and floral hints of Iris.
Palate: Woody nuances and candied fruits that develops into a touch of salted caramel.
Finish: Long and indulgent with an aromatic persistence.
The bottle features updated textured glass look, with larger, more defined scales that redesign Eminente's signature pattern. It comes in a matching gift box that uses the same graphic scale motif in a shade paired to the rum's deep color.
