Nose: full body, chocolate, caramel and light coffee, slightly floral.

Palate: surprisngly smooth, heavy, honey and choclate, initial palate is light honey and wood, mid palate has some choclate and wood, feint tea leaves, back palate becomes more sharp and choclate, viscosity and texture change to become heavier and thicker. Very similar to a hot chocolate with some added dimensions and no sweetness. I could feel the approach to wet old steamed lotus leaves though. Where's the fruit?! What happened?

Finish: short, milk chocolate, chocolate cake.

Dry glass: wax.

A very nice and extremely well executed scotch. It works very well within its environment, full of balanced high grade chocolate accompanied by notes of everything else. No fruit, no smoke, very focused. Not sure if I gave it enough time, but I'm genuinely impressed.

Grade: B+
