Glenmorangie Legends The Tayne, Amontillado Sherry Cask Finish, 43% abv.
Nose: strong aromas of coffee, chocolate, a dry sherry, hints of vines and roots, smells stronger than 43% abv.
Palate: smooth, oily initial palate is a little dull, mid palate is a little bitter, becomes more malty, brown sugar, like smoked crackers, background of coffee without the bitterness and milk chocolate, back palate is more like young coffee without the bitterness, background of chemicals though akin to solution remover.
Finish: short, light roasted coffee beans and burnt chocolate, slihht background of brown sugar.
Not bad! Compared to the other bottlings in the Legend series, it's quite formidible in terms of flavor. Mostly burnt coffee and burnt chocolate, the flavor profile focuses on the palate where it delivers the best aspects. Definitely doesn't taste like a 43% abv scotch. Had this at Bar 심야술집각 (this basically translates to "late night bar Gak, "Gak" should be a family name in this context I believe), Busan, South Korea.
