Glenturret, Triple Wood Edition, Batch No. 2, 43% abv.
Glenturret released a new core range in 2015 consisting of Sherry Edition, Peated Edition, and this Triple Wood, which was matured in American oak sherry, American oak bourbon, and European oak sherry casks.
Nose: grass, hay, shrubbery (more exact relative to the sherry edition), a very Lowland smell.
Palate: well bodied, the initial palate is a little light and confusing, similar to a typical Lowland dram, which then transforms to pieces of white chocolate, vanilla, sweet pastries. A few drops of water doesn't have much of a difference.
Finish: moderate, warm, cake pastries. A few drops of water doesn't have much of a difference.
This is pretty good, more focused, and is much better than the sherry edition! Just more body and flavor overall. Again, also agreeing with online reviews about this Glenturret. Liked this more than the Sherry and Peated editions. Had this at Slainte mhath bar in Busan, South Korea.
