Though it’s cold and lonely in these deep dark nights, I can see Hakushu by the pale moonlight.
Although my inclusion of a boatload of peated whiskies ultimately made me feel like adding Hakushu 12 to my after hours bottle list would be an exercise in redundancy, I’ve been second guessing myself. This is such a magnificent whisky. At turns thunderously smoky, delicately arboreal, and refreshingly crisp, this is another bottle that forgoes raw horsepower and relies on its depth of flavor to get the job done.
It tastes great as a moonlight sipper too.
