Ichiro's Malt & Grain, World Blended Whisky, Limited Edition, 48% abv.
Supposedly this is a blend of Chichibu with grain whisky from unknown distilleries outside of Japan. Perhaps not as internationally diverse as the previous rendition.
Nose: like a typical Ichiro's malt of honey and toast, slight green grapes and apples, very homely.
Palate: good body, sweet, honey, honey roasted almonds! A slight bitterness hits the back palate.
Finish: short, almost nothing.
This one was simple and very nice with the exception of a non-existent finish. Typical Chichibu approach, but a better balanced body, generally honey sweet. I was expecting more toast, but this was like.. honey toasted almonds! It's really hard to take pictures of these dark purple labels.
Grade: C+
