Kavalan solist sherry cask - Nose: sherry, dried fruit, light spicey notes masked by the higher alcohol content. Palate: intense sherry, fruity sweetness, backseat spiciness that hits later. Finish: moderate to slightly long, alcohol content seems to mix well with the spicey notes, subdues the sweet aromas, dries out pretty quick though. Bottle 178/500 (I thought Korea would get bottle 55/500?!)! My first Kavalan was also sherry cask many years ago, before the shower of rightfully deserved awards, and it is still amazing. Totally different class of whiskey.
