Matured in refill american hogshead and refill (or first fill depending on who you ask) european butts. The Islay Jazz Festival is Laga's sort of local Fèis Ìle, so to speak.
Nose: peat smoke and wood, some bacon, meaty, later on soured white grape juice comes to the fore, sour wood.
Palate: some body, initial palate is wood, salt, shellfish related to scallops and large clams, mid palate is sweet, honeyed wood, back palate is major wood and sweet.
Finish: short to medium, light wood and smoke, with a few sips it is more sweet.
Overall peated smoked wood with a great flavor profile. Interesting how a lot of shellfish shows up on the palate and then in the end it gets very sweet. Like it.
