Littlemill 1975-1999, 40% abv.
Nose: play doh clay, half-cooked beans, slight vegetation, old grape flesh, its evolving into unripe watermelon. Strange.
Palate: buttery, initial palate is slighty salty and transitions to bitter-sour juice, but with chrysanthemum tea, back palate is wood, juice that was left out in the burning sun, sometimes an impulse of sourness pops up.
Finish: oily mouthfeel, a little like melted butter, toasted wood, crushed roasted peanuts.
This was another interesting one! Like the previous old Miltonduff, this old Littlemill is quite buttery, and projects flavors, as well as aromas in this case, that don't seem so strange. I admit it is hard to describe this one, but it's close to honey added to chrysanthemum tea. Sometimes there is some weak Chinese medicine in there.
