The Whisky Agency is a German IB that teamed up with Japanese IB Three Rivers Tokyo to release this bottle. One of many releases. Both are quite prolific bottlers and have a very good track record.

Nose: vanilla and BBQ, after awhile and with my nose at a distance I get apples, cold apple sauce, lemons, and a sort of fruit peel.

Palate: a little dry, overall I taste apple sauce sweetness with artificial sweetners, rhubarb, black pepper spice build up in the background, back palate has the spiciness come forward. With time, a wood flavor converges and covers the palate and finish.

Finish: short, light bitter wood.

Dry glass: light wax.

Longmorn is one of those distilleries where it's hit or miss for me. Unfortunately, this cask wasn't as impressive as some others. This totally reminded me of mellowed version of Marie Calendars apple pie. Has that sweetness on the tongue and nothing else to be honest. For a 25 year old it's pretty mellow, but does present a dimension rarely visited by other scotches, namely the pie dimension.

Grade: C
