Whisky Reviews

Longmorn 33 Year Old, 1973-2007, Duncan Taylor, Cask no. 8913, 120/192, 49.4% abv.

A 73 LM! Should be good and fruity. Had this in 2019.

Nose: light bodied, yellow fruits, perhaps peach or apricot skin, light loquats, grilled fruits but without the sugariness, generally sweet though. Wow these aromas seem to disappear quite quickly.

Palate: medium body, initial palate is white sugar, mid palate shows a pretty strong sryup flavor, light hint of smoke in the background, now I'm getting more fruits, in particular peaches, dried stone fruits, dried loquats, more wood too, back palate has some wood, flavors become more intense.

Finish: medium, light fruit cocktail especially those maraschino cherries,

One of the better Longmorns out there. This one was all syrup, that white sugar seemed to permeate everywhere. Lacks diversity and complexity imho. Heard this was supposed to be all tropical fruits, but I didn't really get that... are my senses inhibited?!?! Still quite flavorful. Gonna be conservative.
