Macallan 7, Old Bottle, Imported for Italy Maxxium Italia, 40% abv.
Nose: light sherry notes, white grapes, raisins, the sherry notes dampen with time while the raisin notes become more concentrated.
Palate: extremely smooth like water, honey, very light, back palate has some prunes/plums.
Finish: heats up, short, honey.
Every aspect was light, aromas were very light, flavors were light, even the finish wasn't very noticeable other than the heat. It was like drinking water until I hit the back end, then there were some decent flavors, generally sweet, light bodied, extremely smooth and easy to drink. Being a 7 year old sherry cask matured juice, its extremely good as it avoids all those immature or un-satisfying aspects other distillers tend to show in their young products. You could just tell that with more age, it would get significantly better. Had this at Malt Bar Barrel, Seoul, South Korea. This place is one of South Korea's super whisky bars.
