Mannochmore 18, 1990-2009, 2189 out of 2604 or 3210 bottles, 54.9% abv.
Part of Diageo's 2009 Special Release, this Mannachmore was aged in new sherry seasoned American oak casks, re-charred bourbon casks, and re-charred sherry European oak.
Nose: roses, very light toast, honey notes.
Palate: mostly honey, sugar water/simple syrup related, light wood, boiled remains of berries, Korean raspberries, quite sour sweet overall.
Finish: short, honey notes stay, a wood and syrup coat remains.
A very interesting flavor profile, a mostly over saturated sweet water/syrup type. Had a good body. Didn't taste the purported variety of fruit that some people have described with Mannachmore. I'd be interested in trying this again one day. Had this at Macallan Whisky Bar and Lounge, Macau.
