Whisky Reviews

Port Charlotte 10 Years Old

The ultimate winter warmer, at least for my tastes.

I love peated single malt in all circumstances, but I especially crave it when the temperature nose dives. It’s like drinking a fire while I sit by a fire — peak efficiency in both my whisky enjoyment and my desire to not be cold. And with the temperature supposed to bottom out in North Carolina this weekend, it might be time for an Islay battle royale on Friday or Saturday — I’m thinking something like Port Charlotte 10, a Lagavulin of some stripe, and Ardbeg Uigeadail. Maybe a Laphroaig if I still have any left? I’ll need to check.

What about you? Is there a specific type of whisky or a particular bottle you crave on a cold day?
