Sestante was a famous Italian Scotch importer that like most Italian importers at that time, focused on single cask, cask strength bottlings. Supposedly back then the market was mostly Macallan and Glen Grant, with diversification dependent on importers like Sestante. Supposedly Sestante became "Silver Seal", who bottled casks from the Sestante days as part of the Sestante Collection.

Nose: salted butter, buttered unsalted peanuts, vegetative, apples, nuts, there's a soft, sweet butter-like aroma I can't pinpoint... which I think is honey-butter.

Palate: oily, complex, smooth, salty, sweet wood, sweet French pastries, back palate has more leaves and wood. Almost Islay mafia type flavors but not as strong and straightforward.

Finish: long, salty, dry, seasoning, slightly sweet, oily mouthfeel.

Dry glass: wax.

Another amazing one. I wasn't particular impressed by the Rosebanks I've had before this one, which consisted of 15 and 21. This one is buttery/oily throughout, has a flavor profile of which I think is a combination of honeybutter and Islay mafia bodies. What a great combination! I'm going to say it's complex since there are so many things going on and there are so mamy subtle elements in the flavor profile, for example there is a sweetness that accompanies the oiliness which I identify as honeybutter, but its a little different, and the saltiness in the main phase is low, but the effects seem to imply more and works very well with the oily aspect.
