I asked the bartender to bring me something special. After I declined several bottles of which I already tasted or could taste more inexpensively elsewhere in Japan, he brought out this bottle.

Nose: beautiful nose, major sweet fruits, floral, ripe golden apples, very tropical, sweet berries, light mangoes, mangosteens, passionfruit, frozen strawberries, with time, good amount of coconut and vanilla, pineapple top, caramelized applewood bacon, salted meats, man... you name it, it's probably there (except strong citrus is missing)! Exquisite nose!

Palate: smooth, initial palate is silky, freshly squeezed wood/bark juice, mid palate slight wood, sour and sweet, back palate is a little smokey, caramel, fudge, major chocolate sweets type, treated wood, sharp flavors that turn into a smoke type "thing", it truly is a palate and nose combined experienced.

Finish: short to medium, vanilla wafers, after awhile I get purple grape concentrate, sugar, fruit flavored popsicles, lightly boiled asian pear, after awhile its mostly grapes and asian pear skin.

Dry glass: fruity wax

This is an extremely potent scotch. Nose is amazing, palate is good, finish continues to surprise. WTF its Royal Lochnagar?! I am speechless.

Grade: A
