Wild Turkey, Decades, Master's Keep, Aged 10 to 20 years, Batch No.0002, Bottle No. 07876, 52% abv.

Released in 2017 to celebrate the 35th work anniversary of Master Distiller Eddie Russell, who supposedly blended some nice WT barrels for that occasion. Although it is not officially stated, WT bourbon mashbills are supposedly 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley.

Nose: initially major boiled peanuts but that attentuates very quickly to standard boiled peanuts.

Palate: sweet, honey, initial palate is a powdery honey as if I added not enough water to dehydrated powdered honey, mid palate has wet soil, honey, and wood, while the back palate is spicey, old corn husks, with time it becomes more dry.

Finish: medium, spicey, hot.

This one is much better than the Diamond Anniversary, more balanced but still very unbalanced and the sweet flavors are more focused, not distracted by texture or timing. Gets quite hot after the finish.  Still, it's very unbalanced with only a few flavors going on. Rare Breed is better in my opinion.

Grade: C
