Wild Turkey, Diamond Anniversary, 45.5% abv.
Wild Turkey Associate Distiller Eddie Russell blended 13 to 16 year old bourbons to create the Diamond Anniversary, which was released in 2014 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell.
Nose: peanuts, oak, wood.
Palate: mellow, a little smooth, initial palate is slight honey, wood, spicey, dry, back palate has good body strangely enough, wood, boiled peanuts, spice is more intense but short lived.
Finish: short, typical wood and honey, later on its spicey.
Dry glass: wax and wood.
Not bad, but not impressive, strangely enough it's mostly peanuts and wood type flavors. Not much going on for me at least.
Grade: C
