Wine Reviews

Marguet Champagne Grand Cru "Ambonnay", A.F. Gros Pommard Premier Cru "Les Arvelets"

First post at @spoonwines - where I document my wine tasting notes. This was from @park90winebar.

Marguet Grand Cru "Ambonnay" 2010.

Not really a lover of champagne but grower champagne is a revelation.

On the nose, toasted brioche, almonds, nose of green apples. On the palate, green apples and juicy back palate of brioche, toasted nuts, almonds, toasted flavours. Slightly light short finish.

91/100

AF Gros Pommard "Les Arvelets" 2011 1er cru.

Powerful and expressive rose petals, with a bit of mint and licorice and quite medium bodied. On the palate, black cherries and ripe fruits, quite powerful. Maybe not as elegant as a typical burgundy but it was good.

90/100
