About the Bee's Knees Cocktail Recipe
The Bee’s Kees is one of those staple cocktail recipes of today, and was created during the Prohibition era by Frank Meier, an Austian bartender. What I love about this cocktail is how easy it is to make (3-ingredient anything is always a plus in my books!). All it takes is gin, honey syrup and lemons. You might recognise its similarities with the classic Gin Sour - which it was inspired by, with Meier choosing to substitute the sugar in a Gin Sour with honey syrup for a richer taste.
Meier's recipe works! So well in fact that I do think it's earned its namesake "bee's knees", a slang word you'd use to describe something pretty awesome.
