My girlfriend has given up hard liquor as part of a summer diet so I whipped up this low-abv drink for her. I'd call it a mocktail but I'm not sure it is since tepache is technically alcoholic.
However the batch I fermented is less than 2% ABV so when mixed with the other ingredients this has barely any booze. It's pretty refreshing and this batch of tepache is the best one I've made yet.
Tepache is a fermented pineapple drink which originated in Mexico. Its traditionally served mixed with beer but I'll be trying it in some tequila and rum based drinks soon.
