GlenAllachie, a Speyside distillery, was acquired in 2017 by Master Distiller Billy Walker, who famously revitalised BenRiach Distillery, and subsequently played a big role in the rejuvenation of Tobermory and Deanston. GlenAllachie's turnaround has been staggering, with a new core range and limited releases that have been highly sought after. This revitalisation comes after decades of the distillery's use a workhorse for blends such as Chivas.
This 12 Year Old comes from the distillery's new core range. It was matured in a mixture of virgin oak, oloroso sherry and PX sherry casks.
