This is a gem of a bar.

Tucked in Amoy street - the home of too many good bars in the city, this bar is, as the name suggests, an ideal spot to unwind post-work.

The entrance of the bar is disguised as the lair of a tarot card reader, however, upon walking past the entrance, the dainty and warmly lit speakeasy is revealed!

We personally loved looking around at how the architecture of the bar, its paintings, and furniture were so reminiscent of speakeasies during the Prohibition Era. Although this bar tends to get compared to the original Employees Only bar in New York, this bar has definitely carved a name and experience of its own!

Despite visiting the bar on a slightly busier day, the bar staff were chatty and always happy to guide us on what cocktails would align best with our preferences. All in all, their spot on the recent list of Asia’s as well as the World’s best bars is certainly well earned!

Here’s what we ordered:

🥂Tomato nose: Código Blanco Tequila, Tomato Shrub, Pêche Liqueur, Saline & Soda.

A really well-balanced drink that was insanely smooth! Pairing tomato and tequila was a great experimentation that added a whole lot of freshness.

🥂Simply Oasis: Bombay Sapphire Gin, Yuzu, House-made Chamomile Cordial, Basil & Fresh Lemon Juice.

Loved how every flavour punched right through every sip! Botanicals truly never disappoint when it comes to adding a refreshing and light texture.

🥂Employees Only Staff Drink

This nightly special Rye based drink is the bar’s best kept secret; the ingredients are hidden which only made us want to order it even more! This drink was so worth it - it was strong, yet smooth, and just a little bit citrusy.

🥂Ginger smash: Flor de Caña 4yr Rum, Muddled Ginger Root & Fresh Pineapple, Maraschino Liqueur & Fresh Lime Juice.
