Worth A Shot: MO Bar @ Mandarin Oriental Bar Review

Hotel bars are truly in a league of their own, and this is no exception.

M.O. Bar has plenty of Asian inpired decor pieces and elements peppered throughout the place, with an added contemporary feel that makes for a sleek and mesmerising interior. Topping off the ambience are beautiful views of Marina Bay Sands that the bar overlooks!



The online menu is as creatively designed as the spherical globe-like physical menu that features cocktails that are artistically representative of the different regions of Asia. While the top half of the menu highlights the lighter, fruitier cocktails, the bottom and darker half contains more potent mixes.

Apart from the cocktails itself, it’s really these thoughtful and creative tiny details that are a testament to their spot in both, Asia’s and the worlds 50 best bars!

Here’s what we ordered:

🥂Full Moon: Rum, Wheatgrass, Pear

This beautiful and colourful tipple is a homage to Seoul. It is memorable in terms of its appearance and taste. The wheatgrass flavour is unique and what hits the mouth first, followed by a fruity aftertaste. Personally love the ability of drinks to expose one to flavours that wouldn’t otherwise be paired together or thought of as a good combination!

🥂Honeybee: Whisky, Kumquat, Honey

The kumquat flavour is particularly strong and synonymic of Penang. It blends well with the whisky base but provides a good sense of confusion to taste buds because of how well the potency of the whisky hides behind the citrusy and sweet flavours
